So Tony Hawk Games originally were made back in the early 2000’s
They gained wide success and popularity at the time.. Now with Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 and Despite the low sales, the game has ranked high on the Nintendo Switch 2 best-seller lists, even reaching the top 2-3 positions at one point.
lately Game Remakes have been Wildly Successful!
Remaking Movies or Songs has always been risky if not bad… in rare cases they bring some success but we don’t see it often…
BUT! for Video Games this has actually rebirthed a whole new life into older games… see video games are finally crossing over their first Multi-Generational Run. Where Millennials are the a First Generation the be widespread Gamer Parents. Sure there’s a few gamers in Gen X so I don’t want to discount them either..
As a Millennial Gamer Parent. We grew up on first Nintendo 1985 all the way up to Wii PlayStation 3 Xbox 360… after that we all started taking on more responsibility like working and making families… fast forward 20 years later from 2005 to 2025 we are now seeing a resurgence of Video Games Remakes bringing Millennials back Nostalgia.
The first one to majorly popularize this in my observations is Final Fantasy VII (7) Remake as it shook gamers around the world how Awesome it was! It was praised and beloved by all!!!…!
that's how all Video Game Remakes should Done!
Now what’s a Remake?
These games aren’t like a HD Remastered or and upgraded upscale… No it’s quite more complex than that!
A Remake is Basically what it sounds like. Re-Making a Game from popular Past Title and Rebuilding the Entirety of it all over again basically Rebuilding and Re-Engineering all of the physics and graphics… it’s not an upscale rather a the mechanics of the game rebuilt to today’s standards.

These are some of the Games that have enjoyed this Awesome Resurgence
-Final Fantasy VII Remake
(Originally Playstation One, Now Remake is on PS4, PS5, Steam, and upcoming to XBOX Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2)
Over 7 million units worldwide have sold as of September 2023. The game had a strong launch, selling 3.5 million copies globally in its opening weekend in April 2020.
-Zelda Links Awakening
(Originally on the Gameboy Now Remake is on the Nintendo Switch)
6.63 million copies have sold worldwide
-Tony Hawks 3+4 {Click Here for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater Evolution}
(Originally came out for Playstation One, Nintendo 64, PS2, and Game Cube, Now Remake is on PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and XBOX Series X/S) 190k Copies have already sold across all platforms within the first month of release since it's July 11th Release 2025
-Dragon Quest 1+2 HD 2D Remake ( Highly Anticipated Releases October 30th 2025)
(Originally came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System, and Now Remake is on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2)
And more are in Development such as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Remake of a 2004 game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater title.
These games take a lot of passion and time to build and it seems as though fans of the original Series are Loving what these developers are coming out with.!

It’s still rather a new niche but from what I can tell there’s a lot more exciting remakes coming to the near future.. and I for one am hoping for a Chrono Trigger Remake. Which originally came out on the Super Nintendo .. my heart will drop if that happens only time will tell!
